Clegg pledged to 'clean up politics', a claim that has resonated well
with a British electorate sick of the sleazy goings on in Westminster,
but, as always with Clegg, it is a sham.

What he is desperate to hide, hence it has been removed from his
official CV, is that he was a political lobbyist at Westminster trying
to influence party and government policy on behalf of the corporate and
other clients of the lobby firm, GJW.


He also worked for the Brussels lobby firm, GPlus, whose clients
included the Russian government and the Malaysian Palm Oil Council,
whose plantations significantly contribute to tropical deforestation.
GPlus lobbied for a relaxation of EU regulations to allow more palm oil
imports.

GPlus and partner Nick Clegg worked for the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS)
to water down financial regulations governing banks like the RBS and
this contributed fundamentally to the banking crash and the fraud that
has come to light since September 2008.
